Mimi Abers, a compositor at ILM, has a sculpture exhibit entitled "The Follies of Old Age" at the Gallery Route One at Point Reyes Station. The exhibit will be on display till March 26, 2006.
Hollywood's Master Storytellers will host the VFX team of War of the Worlds this Thursday February 16, 2006 at 7:30 pm at Mann's Chinese Theatres Complex at Hollywood & Highland. VFX Supervisors Dennis Muren and Pablo Helman, Animation Supervisor Randy Dutra and Special Effects Coordinator Daniel Sudick will talk about the work in the film.

John Lasseter, former member of the Lucasfilm CG Group and cofounder of Pixar, will give a presentation at the New York Museum of Modern Art Friday December 16, 2005 at 6:30pm about the creative process at Pixar. The museum will have a Pixar retrospective exhibit from December 14, 2005 till February 6, 2006.

Besides Rob Coleman discussing Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith, there will be talks covering such projects as King Kong, Zathura, The Narnia Chronicles: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and a day in the life of a Pixar TD, among others.
Former ILM member Todd Widup will be teaching an introductory course in MEL scripting, as part of the CGSociety Workshops. The course will take place between November 6, 2005 and January 9, 2006. Todd Widup worked as a Creature TD in Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith.
